Business Development Executive / Manager (Based in Malaysia)

We are seeking a passionate Business Development talent to lead our business growth efforts in Malaysia. In this role, you will engage closely with digital and media agencies, identify strategic opportunities, and strengthen our presence in the Malaysia market within the China outbound marketing ecosystem. This position is ideal for someone with understanding with Chinese media channels, established agency connections, and a passion for driving meaningful partnerships in the digital media space.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and manage business opportunities with Malaysia’s key digital, media, and integrated agencies.
- Leverage existing industry networks to accelerate business growth and expand market coverage.
- Lead lead-generation and strategic research initiatives to uncover new client and partnership opportunities.
- Plan and support agency workshops, training sessions, and roadshows to share the latest insights on Chinese media platforms and market trends.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and agency partners to support revenue growth.
- Manage and monitor your sales pipeline to achieve individual and team targets.
- Prepare pre-sales proposals, presentations, and media plans aligned with client objectives.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to facilitate smooth project coordination and successful campaign execution.
- Stay informed about China’s digital landscape, social platforms, and evolving consumer behaviour.
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma, Degree, or equivalent practical experience in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or digital media, preferably within programmatic, media, or technology sectors.
- Preference for candidates with existing relationships or experience working with Malaysia digital agencies.
- A solid understanding of China media platforms, social ecosystems, and consumer trends.
- Hands-on experience in China social media platforms like WeChat, Xiaohongshu, and Douyin, is highly valued and will be prioritised.
- Result-oriented self-starter, adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable engaging senior-level stakeholders.
- Proficient in PowerPoint and able to build clear, compelling presentations.
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin to liaise with regional clients and partners.
- Candidate with more experience will be considered as Business Development Manager
